Tiramisu - A taste of heaven.

To me, Tiramisu is a simple yet sophisticated dessert. It can express or make you feel differently when eaten under different circumstances. You can feel the warmth and care when eating with your family and friends, feel love and romance when eating with your soul mate, and will feel grateful and passionate about life when you are eating it alone. Moreover Tiramisu for Valentine is simply romantic, it will also create a jolly feeling for Christmas and happy feeling on any special events. Since it is such a wonderful dessert/cake, and furthermore my birthday is just around the corner, so I here will share the steps to make the original Italian Tiramisu for you guys to make for your love ones.

the ingredients, you need :
4 eggs, 3 big spoon of sugar(I use icing sugar because its finer),
500g cheese (Mascarpone cheese or mix with Philadelphia cheese
like what I did because Mascarpone is expensive),
2 mug of warm bitter espresso (add a bit of sugar it in),
1 big pack of Savadori/Ladyfinger (You can get this in Cold Storage), bitter cocoa powder.
Optional: brandy, rum or coffee liqueur ( It will add an extra kick, add to your taste.).

First separate the whites and yolk like the picture above. And then whisk the yolk with the sugar, add the sugar bit by bit so it wont form lumps (you may also use an electric mixer) Don't panic if your volume is much lesser than mine because I am making extra, the normal volume is not enough for my family xD

After beating the yolks till pale yellow, put the cream cheese into a big mixing bow and mix it till it become smooth and creamy. Then slowly pour in the yolk mixture bit by bit again and fold it in. ( forgot to mention your yolk mixture should be creamy and thick like mine in the picture)

It should become a creamy mixture like this.

Next whisk the whites till stiff peak and the volume will increase to maybe double or even triple of it original volume. Make sure to whisk the bottom also when it start to expand. My method of checking whether it is stiff peak or not is to SLOWLY turn the mixing bow upside down. If it is like mine which will not pour out even I turn it upside down, then you have succeeded. If its pourable, continue to whisk it. After it reaches stiff peak, slowly fold it into the cheese mixture. Do not stir it! We must try to keep as much air as possible in the whites.(I prefer to mix it manually because it is easier to control, you may use an electric mixer, but be sure not to over beat the whites.)

After the coffee have cooled down, add in the booze! It is an optional step, I prefer it with coffee liquor but I don't have it so I am force to use up the Gordon Bleu I had. Just don't add too much if you are making it for a kid, if not his/her face will go tomato red in no time. Then just quickly dip the Savadori into the coffee and arrange it into the container.

Then spread the cheese mixture evenly on top of the Savadori (like the picture), and continue to place another layer of Savadori as the steps above. Repeat until the container is full. Chill for at least 4 hours, or if possible overnight, to let the flavor to settle.

The finish touch, sift in the cocoa powder over it before consuming.

The price i have to pay each time I cook or bake, "rich man's hand" will crack after touching oil.
So if you have ever taste my cooking, you should feel honored because I am cooking for you xD

Ok so i guess thats all for now, and if you guys have any question just shout at my shout box. Btw Happy birthday Vasan!!

End of Sem Break..

In this semester break, a lot have happen. Some are sweet some are bitter, but sure as hell it is a memorable one. Especially the memories my friends and I made in Redang, problems that my bro's encounter and hardships that force people to grow up. The new sem is starting tomorrow, and yet I am still in holiday mood, bags still throw aside covered in dust, don't even know where my pencil case is xD . I bet a lot people is still in the same state as I am, so people faster go find your bags and pencil case, start to get ready for the new semester and keep your holiday mood for the next sem break and let it burst out again. It will also be a busy week when tomorrow comes, a lot events are coming up like school activities, work, and a strings of birthdays(if every of them organize a birthday party, I will have to attend birthday parties for 7 days in a row!! besides from the 7 days parties, at least every 3 days there will be another one also).. Thinking back about the first semester really makes me feel happy as it is a step forward in life and i have really enjoyed it, so lets just hope the second sem will be as good as the first. Cheers~~

Picking up shattered pieces of confidence...

Yesterday was a special day for me, I've met an old friend of mine that have left Malaysia 5 years ago. She was the most unexpected person on earth that I would bumped into in my life. Somehow I manage to bumped into her in Pavilion, at first she called my name with a tone of suspiciousness. I was totally shock when i turn back and look to realize it was her standing right in front of me. She was someone special in my life which gave me 2 weeks of happiness and 5 years of sorrow. Exactly after 14days, she suddenly vanish from my life. I only get to know that her family have migrated to a foreign country from her best friend. I always thought that all these only will happen in dramas, but it really happened to me. Haven't recover from the impact I took, she apologized and explained what actually happen years ago. At that time I was rushing to an appointment with a friend, and I didn't know what to say since I was caught off guard, I didn't even ask for her email or other ways to contact her. All I can remember is saying two words to her which is "Hello" and "Bye". I did some thinking, and finally feel how dumb I was for not letting it go for the pass 5 years, setting borders with friendships and relationship, trying not to get too close with anyone, locking myself in my own world where I won't get hurt. Over that 5 years I have been silent, dare not to voice out opinions, feelings and kept everything to myself. After yesterday encounter, I have finally look through most of the things and started to let this weight on my shoulders go. She is the one who indirectly motivate me to start this blog, and I am really grateful for this encounter. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone of you who are reading this post if I have offended or done something mean to you guys before. I believe everything will change starting from this post, as this blog will be recording my remaining journey to pick up my shattered pieces of confidence.

Ps: If you are reading this from Canada, please mail me, i really hope we still can be friends. =)
